Welcome, Friends!
My name is Caroline Freeman. I’m a Greenville, SC native who has now settled back in the upstate with my husband, Mike, and our three young kids. Over the past 10 years our family has travelled the country making beautiful memories in countless cities (big and small) while Mike lived out his childhood dream of being a professional baseball player. His retirement from the game forced our family to slow down and we are now navigating a non-nomadic lifestyle. We are excited to see what adventures we can create in this next chapter of life. With that being said, the stillness of the season has reawakened a passion within me for painting!
I have always had a deep appreciation for the arts. My passion for creative expression began as a child with dance, which carried through to adulthood. Dance allowed me to spend extended periods of time in places like New York and California where the creative spirit and art of all forms completely saturated the senses. Eventually, my love for the arts led me down the path to traditional studio art. I attended the College of Charleston where I majored in Computing in the Arts - a hybrid of studio art and computer science/digital art.
As a mom of three young kids, painting has provided me the same creative outlet that dancing once did. With each piece, I am working through a story in my head and bringing it to life one brushstroke at a time. What you will find on these pages is the visual soundtrack to my soul. It may be a little spontaneous and scattered…but art mimics life, right?
When it comes to painting, nature is my biggest inspiration and landscapes are a personal favorite. I mostly work with acrylics and love incorporating bold colors into my work. There is something so special when you see a piece of art that immediately jumps out and makes you feel something. I hope you find some of that here. I am so grateful for your interest in my “nap-time hustle” and look forward to connecting!
